Guiding Symptoms.         A highly acting remedy on all the organ and tissue. Its clear-cut characteristic symptoms and correspondence to many severe types of illness make its important in homeopathy, constant, certain and regular. Its general symptoms often alone lead to its successful use, e.g exhaustion, and restlessness, with nightly aggravation, are very important. High exhaustion after the slightest exertion. This, with the peculiar irritability of fiber, shows the characteristic irritable weakness. Burning like pains. unseasonable thirst. Burning relieved by producing heat. Seaside complaints  Injurious effects watery fruits. It’s High Potency gives quiet and ease during the last moments of life. Fear, fright and worry exist. This remedy should may use in ailments from ptomaine, alcoholism, poisoning, chewing tobacco, stings, dissecting wounds,; ill effects from decayed food or animal matter; putrid odor of discharges. Gradual weight loss from impair nutrition. Reduces the refractive index of blood serum (compare with China and Ferrum Phos in this condition). Maintains the system under the stress of malignancy everywhere in the body.

Mind Symptoms. Great distress and restlessness condition. Changes place continuously. Death fears and want to be left alone. Cold sweat. Patient thinks  that the medicine are useless. Suicidal tendency. Hallucinations of sight. close-fisted, hateful, selfish and lack of courage. Increased general sensibility. (compare with Heper Sulp in this condition).

Stomach Symptoms. Can’t bear the smell of food. Great thirst; drinks much, but slowly slowly. Nausea, retching, vomiting, after eating. Heartburn and gulping up of acid and bitter raw meals  which seem to criticize the throat. Vomiting of blood, green mucus bile and brown-black. Dyspepsia from ice cream, ice water, vinegar, acids and tobacco. Everything swallowed seems to lodge in the esophagus, and feels that the esophagus is closed and nothing would pass through it. Ill effects craves milk.

Head Symptoms. Only headaches relieved by cold all other symptoms worse. Periodical burning pains, with restlessness and with cold skin. Hemicrania, withcoldness of scalp and weakness. Patient feels that his/her head is in constant motion. Sensitive, and covered with dry scales and nightly burning and itching. Scalp very sensitive for brushing in hair.

Female Symptoms. Irregular menses. Burning sensation in ovarian region. Leucorrhea, acrid, burning, offensive and thin. Pain as from red-hot wires which worse with little exertion and causes great fatigue and better in warm room.

Respiratory Sytem. Unable to lie down smell fears suffocation. Air passages constricted. Asthma worse at midnight. Burning in chest. Cough worse at midnight. Expectoration scanty, frothy. darting pain through upper third of right lung. Wheezing respiration. Hemoptysis with pain between shoulders and burning heat all over. Cough dry, as from sulphur fumes especially after drinking.

Eyes Symptoms. Burning in eyes. Lids red, ulcerated,  scaly and granulated. Edema in eyes. External inflammation, with high pain. Corneal ulceration. Intense photophobia; better external warmth. Ciliary neuralgia, with fine burning pain.

Fever Symptoms. High temperature and septic fever. Paroxysms incomplete, with marked over-tiredness. Hay fever with cold sweats on whole body. It may also be used in typhoid. Hallucination worse during midnight. Great restlessness.

Abdomen Symptoms. Gnawing, burning pains like coals of fire which relieved from heat. Liver and spleen enlarged and painful. Abdomen swollen and painful. Pain as from a wound in abdomen during cough.

Skin Symptoms. Swellings, Itching and burning in skin. Dry, rough, scaly, edema, eruption. worse cold and scratching. Ulcers of skin with offensive discharges. Poisoned injuries. Urticaria with burning and restlessness. Epithelioma of the skin. Gangrenous like inflammations.

Modalities. Worse in wet weather / after midnight / from cold drinks or food. Better from heat also better from elevated head.

Mouth Symptoms. Unhealthy and bleeding gums. Ulceration of mouth with dryness and burning heat. Tongue become dry, clean, and red. Stitching and flaming pain in tongue, with blue color. Metallic taste. Gulping up blazing water.

Extremities. Weakness, heaviness,Trembling, twitching, uneasiness and spasms. Swelling of feet. Sciatica pain. Minor neuritis. Diabetic gangrene. Ulcers on heel (compare with Allium Cepa in this condition).

Relationship. Complementary remedies: Rhustox, Carbo vege, Thuja nad Phosphorus.

Compare with. Phosphorus, Veratrum alb, Kali Ph and China.

Antidote by: Opium, Nux vomica, Heper sulph, China.

Doseage. 30C and higher potency. High potencies often give best results. Low potencies may be used in intestinal, gastric, and kidney diseases, higher in Skin, neuralgias and nervous diseases. If only surface conditions found, the lowest potencies (2X to 3X) give better result. Doses should be taken repeatedly.
