Guiding Symptoms. This remedy is especially indicated in childhood and old age. This remedy brings aid to scrofulous children, especially
mentally and physically weak children, they are dwarfish, do not grow well and have
swollen abdomen, take cold easily. Diseases of old men when degenerative
changes starts , have hypertrophied prostate, very sensitive to cold, offensive
foot sweats, very weak. Very reluctant to meeting strangers. This remedy is often
useful in the dyspepsia of the young who have been masturbated since long and
suffering from seminal emissions, along with cardiac irritability and palpitation.
Affects glandular structures, and useful in general degenerative changes,
especially in coats of aneurism,
arteries and senility. This remedy has a cardiovascular poison action on the muscular
coats of heart. Blood vessels soften and degenerate, become inflated,
ruptured, and apoplexies result.
Mind Symptoms. Loss of
memory and mental weakness. Less confidence. Aversion to meet and talk to
strangers. Child like habits.
Throat Symptoms. Takes cold easily, with stitches and stinging pain. Swollen of submaxillary glands and tonsils. Suppurating tonsils from cold drinks. Feeling of a plug in pharynx. Throat troubles from over use of voice. Burning pain when swallowing which worsens empty swallowing. Stinging pain in tonsils, pharynx or larynx. Contraction of esophagus as soon as food enters in it and it causes gagging and unpleasant (compare with Graphite in this condition).

Eyes Symptoms. Photophobia exists in the patient. Cataracts (compare with Silica and Calc Phos in this condition). Alternating dilatation and reduction
of pupils. Gauze before eyes.
Stomach Symptoms. Hungry but refuses to eat. Water impatient, hiccough, and eructations which relieves from pressure as of a stone. Worse from eatong warm meal. Gastric weakness in old people with possible tumor present.
Female Symptoms. Scanty and profuse menses. Pain in stomach and low back before
menses.
Male Symptoms. Patient suffering from indurated testicles, enlarged prostate, diminished
desire and premature impotence / ejaculation.
Abdomen Symptoms. Consistent colic with hunger but food refused by the patient.
Enlarged mesenteric glands.
Modalities. Symptoms worsen from:-
i. Thinking about symptoms.
ii.
From washing.
iii.
Lying on painful side.
Relieve by walking in fresh air.
Complementary medicines:- Psorinum, Dulcamara and Slica.
